AMCC Club Championship Winter 2008/2009
The club championships are open to all drivers. If you race at a championship designated race meeting you will automatically be entered into the championship. This page details all the rules governing the Club Championships.

Class Championships
Each of the main classes will have it's own championship. These are open to ALL drivers - including non-members. Drivers can just turn up to a club meeting and they will automatically be awarded points in the relevant class championship.

Driver Ability Formula (F) numbers
Within each class a driver will be assigned a formula F number based on their driver ability. Driver ability is detemined by the best qualifying performance (number of whole laps) achieved in the previous championship/s. Seperate sub-championships will be run for each driver ability related F rating within each class. These will however only be open to members of the club. This gives newcomers the opportunity to compete in a championship with other drivers of similar ability.

Non-members are only eligible to compete in the overall (non-driver ability related) class championships.

Sub-Class Formula (F) numbers
The Formula GT and Electric Sport classes are divided into sub-classes. Drivers will compete in these sub-classes as separate championships as they would in the main classes. Formula (F) numbers will be used to differentiate these sub-classes and will also be divided into seperate driver-ability sub-championships. These sub-class championships will be open to everyone. Non-members will however only be eligible for overall sub-class points not the driver ability related sub-championships.

Points - All classes except IC Touring & IC Outlaw
In each class, points are awarded for each round in which you race. The points you receive are determined by your qualifying position and the position in which you finish in the final. The qualifying points and the final position points are then added together to give you the total for the round.

Points awarded for qualifying start at 50 points for the top qualifier (plus an extra bonus point = 51), 49 for second, 48 for third etc. Points for the finals work in the same way - 50 points for winner of the A-final, 49 for second etc. The winner of the B final therefore would get 40 points (assuming that there were 10 drivers in the A-final). If the finals are split such that there are fewer than 10 drivers in the top finals, points will be allocated sequentially starting from 50 and working downwards without any break in the sequence. So if there were only 6 drivers in the A-final, the winner of the B-final would get 44 points.
The following table lists the points given for each qualifying and final position (assuming 10 drivers per final) :-

Points - IC Touring & IC Outlaw
Starting in the Winter 2008/09 season the way points are determined for the IC Touring has changed.

Points will be awarded for qualifying in the normal way : 50 + 1 points for first, 49 for second, 48 for third etc.

Points in the final will not be determined by finishing position. Instead, points will be awarded based on how many whole laps were completed : 40 laps = 40 points, 39 laps = 39 points etc. Hence it will not matter in which ifinal driver races. Finals will typically include IC Outlaw cars running in their own championship and will be split so there are an equal number of drivers in each final race (sorted by qualifying position). Points for qualifying and the points for the final will be added together to get to the total points awarded for that round of the championship.

Total Championship Points
The points for the championship series for each driver are calculated as the total of their best rounds taken from the number of rounds to count given in the table below :-

Note: The same "number of rounds to count" will be applied to all classes. No allowance is made for when a class isn't actually raced in a meeting.

Example: If the F-GT class isn't raced in 4 of the 11 meetings, then the number of rounds to count will still be 8 - even though there were only 7 meetings for the class. This means that in order for drivers to get the maximum points possible they would have had of attended all of the 7 rounds in which the class did appear. here nobody racing in that class in a given meeting. classes that NOT The current championship points table is posted on this website - go to the "Racing" menu and select "Championship Points".

Trophies
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 drivers in each championship (and Formular (F) sub-championship - members only). In order to be eligible for a trophy a driver must have competed in at least 50% of the championship meetings rounded up to the next whole number. So if a championship consisted of 11 rounds a driver must have competed in at least 6 of those rounds. This excludes rounds that were cancelled due to bad weather (or for any other reason). So if an 11 round championship had 2 meetings cancelled then a driver must have competed in at least 5 of the remaining 9 rounds.

Where drivers are eligible for more than one trophy in a given class (eg. 2nd in the overall class championship and 1st in the F2 championship) only one trophy will be awarded and engraved with both positions won.
